Andy Squint is a songwriter steeped in tradition. His energetic, solo acoustic show features all-original roots, blues and jazz music from his two CDs, Goin’ to the Racetrack and Down by the River. Andy’s songs convey the timeless themes of traveling, lost loves, and the joys and hardships of life in the Deep South. The showcase highlights his slide guitar mastery on a nickel-plated National Resophonic guitar. Andy uses a neck from a wine bottle, sliding across the guitar strings, to accompany his strong, baritone voice in a haunting duet. The presentation is simple but powerful as Andy, sitting in a chair and stomping his feet rhythmically, touches the audience’s soul
